GSD Calculator

GSD calculator
The Ground Sampling Distance (GSD) Calculator is used to calculate the resolution of aerial imagery by determining how much ground area each pixel represents. Simply input parameters like camera sensor size, focal length, flight altitude, and image dimensions to calculate an accurate GSD.
What does GSD mean?
  • Low GSD (e.g., 1 cm/pixel): High-resolution data, capturing fine details like cracks, small objects, or precise measurements—ideal for construction, inspections, and other high-precision tasks.
  • High GSD (e.g., 10 cm/pixel): Lower-resolution data, suitable for large-scale surveys or general mapping where fine detail is less critical.
Why it’s useful
  • Ensure your imagery meets the resolution required for your project.
  • Optimize flight and equipment settings for accurate data collection.
  • Save time and resources by planning workflows to align with project requirements.
